Prelim Final Film

Evaluation

While creating the prelim film we have come across some problems and difficulties that we learnt from and will help us with the real final film. As part of the film we had to interview a couple of people asking them basic questions about mobile phones. The first interview went well but we soon found out that the mic we had put on the interviewee wasn't working so we were unable to hear what he was saying this slowed our progress with the film because we then had to find an extra person to interview after because of the problem.
For our second interview the mic did work and everything was good but there was still a problem, we had placed the interviewee in the wrong place.

Here is our problem, the codes and conventions of a documentary is that the interviewee is on one side then looking into space to the opposite side their on but here the interviewee is on the right side and is also looking into space of the right side.

While we used Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and didn't know much about the program we didn't realise that when we finished creating the documentary we had to change the settings to stereo. The difference between stereo and mono is that stereo plays in two speakers/headphones but the mono is just settings that plays in one speaker/headphones.

However, the third interview was done and the framing was really good, the interviewee was on the side that was opposite to the way she was looking and the eye line was three quarters of the way down. This goes with the codes and conventions of interviews in documentaries. I also used the blue screen with the interview and put a phone keyboard behind the interviewee.
